Position Summary

Backwoods Print is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Screen Print Production Assistant. This is an active, hands-on position in a fast-paced, air-conditioned production facility. The employee will work closely with three other team members and assist with different tasks throughout the screen-printing process.

The regular schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours may vary based on the production workload, and employees may occasionally be released early when the day’s work is completed. Employees can generally expect approximately 35–40 hours per week. No weekend work is required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare screens for production
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) while cleaning screens
  • Pull and stage T-shirts for the press operator by order, style, color, and size
  • Carefully verify garments and quantities before printing
  • Fold finished T-shirts neatly and consistently
  • Apply tags and prepare finished garments for packing
  • Organize garments, supplies, and work areas
  • Move boxes and materials throughout the production area
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Assist the press operator and other team members as needed
  • Perform various production and warehouse duties as assigned

Important Work Conditions

  • This position involves working around screen-printing ink. Employees should expect to occasionally get ink on their clothing or skin.
  • Employees should wear appropriate work clothing and closed-toe shoes that could potentially become stained.
  • Required PPE must be worn correctly at all times while cleaning screens.
  • Employees must follow all safety, chemical-handling, cleanliness, and production procedures.
  • The production facility is air-conditioned.
  • Backwoods Print maintains a smoke- and vape-free workplace. Smoking and vaping are not permitted during working time or inside the facility.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the shift

Qualifications

  • Must be dependable, punctual, and ready to work at the scheduled start time
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and able to catch errors involving styles, colors, sizes, and quantities
  • Able to remain focused and stay on task with limited supervision
  • Able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy or quality
  • Willing to move between different duties as production needs change
  • Able and willing to wear required PPE and follow safety procedures
  • Comfortable working closely with a small production team
  • Previous screen-printing, warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience is preferred but not required
